If you discover you have entered the incorrect shipping address, call or email Well-Trained Mind Press immediately. If we receive your call in time, we can either correct the shipping address or cancel the order.
Our orders go almost directly to our fulfillment center, a company we selected (in part) because of their quick turnaround...which means that we can't always catch the order before it ships. If your package has already shipped, you can return it within 30 days for a refund of all but the shipping costs. Or you can work with the shipping service to intercept the package. Sometimes, this is less expensive than paying for return shipping.
The three main shipping services provide options to change a delivery address or to choose an alternate delivery/holding location. In each case, you sign up for a service with both free and paid options, with some limitations and exclusions.
UPS: MyChoice: https://www.ups.com/us/en/services/tracking/mychoice.page?
UPS says, beyond MyChoice, you can find some options on the tracking page: https://www.ups.com/us/en/help-center/sri/tracking/change-delivery.page
USPS: Package intercept: https://www.usps.com/manage/package-intercept.htm
This is for domestic shipments. A fee is involved but is likely worth it to avoid time delay and re-ship costs. USPS does not offer intercept services on Media Mail packages.
Also, there are some free options available, automatically, on the tracking screen for some delivery locations. That info is here: https://faq.usps.com/s/article/USPS-Delivery-Instructions-The-Basics
If you are somewhat local to the incorrect address, you can ask that the package be held at the Post Office and pick it up there.
FEDEX: Delivery Manager: https://www.fedex.com/apps/fdmenrollment/?CMP=PAC-1004304-5-1-1050-0010000-US-US-EN-DELIVERYVANURL0
There are options to hold a package or change the address. The price for changing the address varies by location.
