What are the Review Question Worksheets?
As a means of assessing student comprehension, each volume of The Story of the World Activity Book has "Questions for Review" for each chapter of the text. Younger children respond to the questions orally. Older students, starting in about 4th grade, start to work more independently and can answer the questions in writing.
The Review Questions Worksheets PDF has the questions written out for the student, leaving space for a written response. The suggested responses ("answers") are in the Activity Book; they are not included with the PDF.
This is an optional resource; it saves time in writing out the questions that are in the Activity Book, and it gives students a hint about how long the answer needs to be.
This product used to be called the Written Comprehension Responses. We changed the name in 2021 to make it more descriptive. The product is the same.
This article explains how the Review Questions Worksheets fit into The Story of the World family.
You can see a sample of each volume's Worksheet on its product page. Click here to see the sample for Volume 3.
Are the Review Question Worksheets included in the Activity Books?
No. The Activity Book includes the Review Questions and suggested responses ("answers"). In the early grades, parents/teachers go through these questions orally with their children. When students can work independently, they can write their answers. The Worksheets are pre-formatted to include the question and space for the student to write the answer.
We made the Worksheets a separate product because it is intended for a subset of our customers. Adding the pages to the Activity Books would raise the cost of production and shipping for everyone. We made the PDF so interested customers could get the supplement at minimal cost. It is available only in PDF format.
The PDF is an optional supplement to the Activity Book. It does not replace the Activity Book.
Well-Trained Mind Press licenses the Review Questions Worksheets for classroom use.
