Kayla Meyers is a writer, cultural historian, and educator living in Richmond, Virginia with past lives in Madrid, Spain and Austin, Texas. Her writing covers pop culture, American and international politics, teaching pedagogy, and writing practice, and has appeared in The Washington Post, Contingent Magazine, Avidly, and The Journal of Popular Culture. Kayla has presented her work at numerous academic conferences, and helped program the 2017 Southeastern American Studies Conference as well as the 2019, 2020, and 2022 SXSW EDU Conferences & Festivals. Kayla has taught writing and English for many years at the Well-Trained Mind Academy. Kayla earned her B.A. and M.A. in American Studies from the College of William & Mary.
