What post-Renaissance history textbooks does WTM recommend? – Well-Trained Mind

For grades 9-12, students who are mature in their reading ability and able to deal with mature content, we recommend Susan Wise Bauer's History of the _____ World series. The three books cover Ancient, Medieval, and Renaissance history.

Dr. Bauer has recommendations for post-Renaissance History books in her book The Well-Trained Mind, Fourth Edition. She hasn't discovered any books better than the ones recommended in this book. Here are the recommendations from that book. The Well-Trained Mind has a much fuller description of each book, and recommendations for creating a Great Books/History high school curriculum.
