The Story of the World Activity Books, all editions up to 2020, refer to specific page numbers in these history encyclopedias.
- Usborne Internet-Linked Encyclopedia of World History, ISBN 0-7945-033202 (published 2001)
- The Kingfisher History Encyclopedia, Kingfisher Encyclopedia, ISBN 0-7534-5784-9 (published 2004).
The Story of the World, Vol. 3, Revised Edition (2020) and The Story of the World, Vol. 4, Revised Edition (2021) refer to this newer encyclopedia: Usborne Book of World History 2008 edition, ISBN 978-0-7945-2478-4.
The original encyclopedias are out of print; you will need to look for used copies if you want these exact editions. If you do so, be aware that some resellers will price gouge. You need not overspend to get the exact editions when other, newer editions will work just fine. We recommend using the most recent editions of these titles. The pages will not match those referenced in our Activity Books, but thanks to chronological order, it takes only a few minutes to locate the content in the newer editions.
Please note: publishers change not only the material but also the targeted age-group of individual titles. Be sure to read the publisher’s product description to ensure a good match for your family.
