At a Glance: How Our Licensing Works
Licensing begins at 5 students.
Licenses are per student, per title, per year.
If new students join during the year, their license fees must be paid by the end of the quarter in which they enroll.
We license consumable student materials only (for example: student pages, activity sheets).
We do not license instructor materials.
Source files used to print licensed materials are provided at no additional cost and are made inactive when the license term ends.
What You May and May Not Do
Allowed
Read our books aloud to your class in person, using a book you or your school owns.

Purchase materials one-by-one:
Each family can buy student materials directly (physical or digital), or
The school/co-op can purchase student materials (physical or digital) for each enrolled student, or
You can purchase a classroom license instead, which permits copying for enrolled students.
Requires a License
Using our pre-recorded audiobook as a read-aloud for your students.
Reproducing our consumable student materials (for example, printing from PDF for multiple students).
Not Allowed
Showing student materials on a shared screen instead of purchasing a copy or a license. This violates copyright law.

Using our content, in whole or in part, inside another vendor’s curriculum or product.
We do not license our content for inclusion in other products.
If you see our materials used this way, it is illegal. Please don’t purchase those products and email us at support@welltrainedmind.com to let us know.

Purchasing a Classroom License
A classroom license grants the right to reproduce consumable student materials for a specific number of students.
Licenses are purchased per student, per title, per year.

With your license, we provide source files (for example, PDFs) for you to print. These files are:
Provided at no cost beyond the license fee.
Disabled/inactivated when the license term ends.
Instructor guides, texts, and any non-expiring source materials can be purchased in addition to the license.

Distribution Rules for Licensed Materials
Licensed student materials may be distributed only to the students covered under your license agreement.
Licensed student materials are consumable and may not be kept or redistributed for future use by any party (teacher, school, or family).
